Kenai Fjords Tours operates an 82’ 8” x 29.2’ Teknicraft Catamaran, built by All American Marine, for glacier and wildlife tours in Alaska. Kenai Fjord Tours, based in Seward, Alaska (approximately 125 miles south of Anchorage) operates seasonally. Kenai Fjords Tours is the original tour operator in the Kenai Fjords National Park and has been operating tours since 1974.
This custom sightseeing catamaran is USCG certified for 150 passengers, inside at tables. It operates on a near coastal route with 4 crew members. The vessel works several different scheduled itineraries throughout the national park. Kenai Fjord Tours maintains the newest fleet of custom sightseeing vessels and they enjoy the comfort, style, and fuel efficiency offered by the Teknicraft Design vessel. Fully loaded, Aialik Voyager reaches a top speed of 31 knots and cruises efficiently at 26 knots. Kenai Fjords Tours has experienced a 10% increase on available inside seating coupled with an astounding 35% fuel savings when compared to the other monohull vessel in their fleet! Cruising at 26 knots allows the new vessel to travel faster, thus enhancing and extending available wildlife viewing opportunities. The catamaran design features plenty of comfortable seating in a heated cabin with large viewing windows and two walk-around viewing decks. The vessel is highly accessible and offers wide aisle ways, low clearance door sills, and an exterior ramp that gradually sweeps up to the foredeck so that all passengers can easily access the same viewing areas. The vessel will provide passengers with a very smooth ride and accommodates passengers with limited mobility. This vessel was delivered before the 2007 operating season.
