The M/V Mercury, built in 2001 for San Juan Island Shuttle Express, takes passengers around its home waters for views of the Puget Sounds largest whale pods. The USCG Subchapter T certified Mercury operates out of Bellingham, WA and is designed for high-speed sightseeing trips for tourists with a sense of adventure. The vessel is aluminum construction and is powered by twin 350 hp. Yanmar diesel engines, driving twin Hamilton Jet 274 waterjets. Designed by Teknicraft, the Mercury carries 34 passengers at speeds up to 33 knots.
