All American Marine (AAM) is proud to announce the appointment of Daniel Zech as the organization’s Business Development Manager. Daniel, originally a Bellingham local, sailed on vessels from French Polynesia to the Caribbean for over a decade. His maritime career took him to the Charter House Yacht Club in the US Virgin Islands, where he managed day-to-day operations for a charter fleet of 28 catamarans and monohulls for multiple years. In addition, his experience includes managing and captaining a number of commercial boats on a variety of missions while holding his 500-ton USCG Masters License and endorsements. Daniel’s most recent experience had him presiding over a robust sales pipeline which he helped to create, nurture, and grow significantly during his tenure at Electronics Value Recovery Inc., where he was the VP of Business Development.
Daniel’s new role as Business Development Manager at AAM will focus on expanding All American Marine’s presence in the North American and international maritime markets. He will oversee the sales pipeline of new customers and past operators looking to add to their fleet. Daniel has a history of effective team leadership, a deep understanding of the maritime market, and a successful history in Business Development. We are excited to welcome him back home to Bellingham and aboard the crew at AAM.
We spoke with Daniel about his new role, where AAM stands in the marketplace, and what he’s looking forward to in the future. Check out his responses below!
What do you look forward to most with your new role as Business Development Manager?
I am incredibly excited to join this talented team that is leading the industry in innovative boat design and production. Few, if any, boat manufacturers in the country have the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship. All American Marine has a great company culture and is committed to being a positive influence in the community. I can’t wait to dive in and help continue to grow the company. Being surrounded by talented teammates in a healthy work environment is why I took the job and moved back to Bellingham. It also helps that AAM is on the forefront of innovative, renewable, and green technologies and I can be a part of changing the face of commercial vessels.
Any trends you’re keeping an eye on in the marketplace that you’d like to tackle in this new role?
Renewable and alternative sources of energy for commercial vessels are becoming a more realistic and economically viable option. As renewable energy storage density increases, commercial electric vessels or hybrid vessels will become highly sought after. It is great that All American Marine has already produced several of these vessels. I am even more excited to keep AAM at the forefront of hydrogen technology and capitalize on the success of vessels like the Sea Change by building more commercial hydrogen-powered vessels.
What attracted you to All American Marine and this role in leading their sales efforts?
All American Marine pushes the envelope with their commitment to innovation. I want to be a part of a company that leads the charge in environmentally and socially responsible commercial vessel construction. The fact that they are the first company in the world to have launched a US Coast Guard approved, hydrogen-powered passenger vessel speaks volumes to their core values. I want to share this and their innovative, fuel-efficient, and hybrid boats with the world to make it a tangibly better place for future generations.
